E2 (ESTRADIOL)

What is the E2 (Estradiol) Test?

The E2 test measures the level of estradiol, the main form of estrogen in the blood.
Estradiol is produced mainly by the ovaries in women, and in smaller amounts by the testes in men and adrenal glands in both sexes.

It plays an important role in:

  • Check for menopause or premature ovarian failure.

In Men

  • Detect possible hormone imbalances.

In Children

  • Evaluate early (precocious) or delayed puberty.
